Allergic to Horses play an energetic mix of rock, blues and funk, easy to recognise by their signature catchy riffs and hooks. Influenced by the greats of rock like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC aswell as by today’s acts like the Black Keys, Tijs and Bob were determined from a young age to start their own rock band. Having found their ultimate drummer in Olivier, they started rehearsals and immediatly wrote a couple of great songs. When Bob got an allergic reaction after petting a horse on a holiday in France with Tijs, they decided to change their name from The Motherfunkers to Allergic to Horses. Afterwards it turned out Bob was actually allergic to the grass rather then the horse. They soon became a local live sensation, and were lucky enough to play at Amsterdam’s legendary Paradiso in January. Also they won the third prize in Noord Hollands Kunstbende, a wellknown Dutch band competition, and first prize in the first round of the international Emergenza Festival!! They might just prove to be the next big band to come out of Holland, so watch this space!
